Masala Indian restaurant boss pleads guilty to tax evasion and money laundering

The boss of Indian restaurant Masala has pleaded guilty to tax evasion and money laundering charges.

Rupinder Singh Chahil, a New Zealand citizen, who started the Indian restaurant and a former property developer pleaded guilty to 34 charges of tax evasion and nine charges of money laundering on the second day of what was to be a four-week trial in the High Court in Auckland.
